Information Architecture > Section 508 Accessibility

Section 508 is a US Government mandate that all Government webpages be accessible to all people, with folks with disabilities in mind.

It is not too difficult to have a website that will allow screen readers for the Blind to read text, and the W3C Consortium has spearheaded a Web for Everyone with the Web Accessibility Initiative, or WAI.

There are SEO benefits in having an Accessibly website, such as an easier-to-crawl website, and semantic markup.
